Little Richard was born Danny Penniman in Macon, Georgia in 1932. Richard learned how to sing and play the piano in the church. He would see his first piece of success in 1956 with the smash record "Tutti Frutti". He followed that up with hits like 1957 "Long Tally Sally" and "Rip It Up". What he brought to the music industry in those days was the first of it's kind.
Richard was a brave soul, he like many African American performers had to play it safe while touring during Segregation and Jim Crow. During this time Black performers could not stay or eat at the hotels or dining halls they played at because they were African American.

From his wild style of piano playing, smooth voice and classic runs, to electrifying performances that would give birth to the term Rock and Roll. His impact would be the inspiration for legendary acts like The Beetles and Elton John.
